Working with Emerald

Frequently asked questions.

Find your next step, the right inquiry, and what to expect when working with ECC.

01

Career services

Can I purchase resume services only?

No. Emerald Career Consulting does not offer standalone resume writing or resume-only services. Our career work begins with understanding your goals and the challenges affecting your next step. Resume positioning may be included in a broader career strategy engagement when it is part of the recommended scope.

My resume is my main concern. Can I still reach out?

Yes. Tell us what you are trying to accomplish and what has been happening in your job search. We will review your inquiry to determine whether an ECC service fits your needs. Submitting an inquiry does not mean a resume rewrite is included.

How do I know which career service I need?

You do not need to arrive with the answer. Describe your goal, current situation, and the problem you want help solving. ECC will recommend a service based on that information and any additional details needed to define the work.

What is the difference between advisory, diagnostic, and strategy work?

Focused Career Advisory addresses one defined career issue or decision. A Career Diagnostic examines what may be getting in the way and identifies recommended next steps. A Career Strategy Engagement addresses agreed priorities through a defined scope of work. Your proposal explains the specific deliverables included.

Does every service include coaching or multiple meetings?

No. Meeting needs depend on the service and your agreed scope. Your Statement of Work explains any included sessions, their purpose, and the support period. Ongoing coaching, unlimited sessions, and unlimited access are not automatically included.

Will a diagnostic include a new resume or every recommended improvement?

Not automatically. A diagnostic identifies issues and recommended next steps. Completing those recommendations is separate unless the work is expressly included in your agreed scope.

02

Working with ECC

How is pricing determined?

Pricing is based on the work your engagement requires. After reviewing your needs and defining the scope, ECC provides a quote explaining the services, deliverables, and payment terms. Additional requests may require a revised scope and quote.

What happens after I submit an inquiry?

ECC reviews your request and may ask for additional information, materials, or a conversation to clarify your needs. If there is a fit, we define the scope and provide a quote. Before work begins, you will sign ECC’s service agreement and a Statement of Work outlining your engagement. Both are required for every service engagement. Any required payment, materials, and intake information must also be complete.

When will my project begin and how long will it take?

Your timeline depends on the agreed scope, project readiness, and available production capacity. We confirm your production window or delivery date as part of scheduling. Submitting an inquiry or making a payment alone does not establish a start date.

Can I request expedited service?

You may request it, but expedited service depends on available capacity and approval. If it is available, the additional fee and delivery commitment will be included in your quote. Please share any deadline when you inquire.

Are revisions included?

Any included revisions and the time allowed to request them are defined in your Statement of Work. ECC does not offer unlimited edits. A new direction, additional deliverable, or request outside the agreed scope may require a new quote.

What should I send with my inquiry?

Start with your goal, the challenge you want help with, and any important deadline. ECC will tell you which materials are needed for the next step. Depending on the service, those may include your current resume, target roles, LinkedIn profile, job descriptions, or relevant project information.

03

Finding your way around the website

Where should I start?

Start with “How Can Emerald Help?” on the homepage and choose the path that best matches your goal. Use Career Services for individual career support, Organizations for workforce needs, Education & Curriculum for educational programs or materials, and Book Ebonye for speaking or appearances. Editorial requests belong under Press / Media; paid collaborations belong under Brand Partnerships.

What if I am not sure which inquiry form to use?

Use General Contact and briefly describe what you need. Include whether you are reaching out for yourself, an organization, an event, or a media outlet so we can route your request.

Where can I explore ECC content?

Look for The Legal Shift for employment-law developments, Where the Jobs Actually Are for workforce and job-market coverage, The Career Advantage for career-focused content, and Employment News for briefings. Follow the links on those pages to the available content.

How do I subscribe to The Notes?

Use The Notes subscription form and complete the consent step. Subscribing is separate from requesting a service. If you would also like to work with ECC, submit the inquiry that matches your needs.

Are all resources shown on the website available now?

Check the status shown on the page. A resource marked “coming soon” is still in development and is not yet available. An announcement or preview does not mean enrollment, purchase, or download is open.

What should I do if a form or link is not working?

Email hello@emeraldcareerconsulting.com. Include the page address, what you were trying to do, and any error message. A screenshot and your device or browser can help us identify the issue. Do not include passwords, payment-card details, or other sensitive information.

How do I report a content error or accessibility issue?

Use General Contact and include the page or content link. For a correction, describe the concern and share a supporting source when available. For an accessibility issue, explain what you could not access and the format or assistance you need.

04

Media and press inquiries

How do I request an interview, quote, or commentary?

Use Press / Media for editorial requests from reporters, producers, editors, and other media professionals. Tell us the outlet, story topic, what you need from Ebonye, and your deadline, including the time zone.

What topics can I contact Ebonye about?

Relevant topics include career development and job readiness, hiring and recruitment, workforce trends, workplace practices, and employment education. Requests about employment-law news are considered from an educational and workplace-context perspective. We review each request for topic fit and availability.

What information should a press inquiry include?

Include your name, role, outlet, contact information, story angle, specific questions, deadline and time zone, interview format, and expected publication or broadcast date. Note whether the interview will be live, recorded, written, or on camera, along with the estimated time needed.

Can I request a bio, headshot, or media kit?

Yes. An approved bio, headshot, and media kit are available upon request. Include the materials you need and explain where they will appear so we can provide the appropriate assets.

What if I have a same-day deadline?

Put the deadline and time zone near the beginning of your request, along with the minimum information you need. We will review the request based on availability. A submission or automated confirmation does not guarantee participation or a response before your deadline.

Which form should I use for a podcast or event appearance?

For an editorial interview tied to a story or coverage, use Press / Media. For speaking, hosting, moderating, or a planned guest appearance, use Book Ebonye. If the request includes sponsored content, paid promotion, or a brand campaign, use Brand Partnerships. Describe the format if your request spans more than one category.

Does submitting a request confirm an interview or appearance?

No. Availability, topic, format, timing, and any applicable terms must be confirmed. Please wait for direct confirmation before announcing Ebonye as a participant.

05

Organizations education and partnerships

Does ECC work with organizations as well as individuals?

Yes. ECC works with organizations on workforce needs, including hiring, development, retention, and the employment experience. Use the Organizations inquiry to describe the problem, the people affected, and the outcome you want to achieve.

Can I request a workshop or customized training?

Yes. Share your audience, learning goals, estimated group size, preferred format, location, and proposed dates. ECC reviews the request to determine the appropriate scope, available capacity, and pricing. Customization and delivery requirements are defined before booking.

How can a school or workforce program explore a partnership?

Use Education & Curriculum to describe your students or participants, the skills you want to develop, and how the program would be delivered. Include the age or career stage of the audience, expected group size, timeline, and any institutional requirements.

Can an institution use ECC curriculum or resources in its own program?

Submit an Education & Curriculum inquiry describing the material, audience, number of users or sites, and intended use. Availability and any required license are reviewed before use. Purchasing an individual resource does not automatically include permission to reproduce, distribute, adapt, or teach it across an institution.

How do I request Ebonye as a speaker, host, or moderator?

Use Book Ebonye. Include the event or organization name, topic, audience, date, location or virtual format, session length, and budget if established. Mention any travel, recording, livestreaming, or later distribution plans.

How do I propose a sponsorship or brand collaboration?

Use Brand Partnerships for sponsored content, campaigns, and commercial collaborations. Include the brand, campaign goals, audience, proposed deliverables, platforms, timeline, budget, and any requested content usage or exclusivity. An inquiry does not guarantee a partnership.

06

Service expectations and support

Can services or sessions be delivered virtually?

Yes. ECC services are primarily virtual. In-person work is subject to the scope, location, and availability. The delivery format and any travel requirements are confirmed before booking or beginning the engagement.

What if my needs change after we start?

Tell ECC before requesting or expecting additional work. We will review how the change affects the agreed deliverables, timeline, and fee. Work outside the original scope may require an updated Statement of Work and quote.

How do I request a meeting change?

Reply to your meeting confirmation or existing engagement email thread with the requested change and proposed availability. A new time is confirmed after availability is checked. Rescheduling and cancellation terms are engagement-specific and are defined in your agreement or Statement of Work.

What are the cancellation and refund policies?

Cancellation and refund terms are specific to your engagement and are defined in your agreement or Statement of Work. Review those terms before signing, and contact ECC with questions about your engagement.

How soon should I expect a response?

Response time depends on the request and availability. Include any deadline and its time zone in your inquiry. An automated confirmation acknowledges receipt; it does not confirm a booking or guarantee a response before your deadline. Active engagements follow the communication expectations in their agreement or project instructions.

Does ECC provide legal advice or representation?

No. ECC provides employment education, career guidance, and workforce consulting. Our content and services do not create an attorney-client relationship or replace advice from a licensed attorney. For legal advice about your specific situation, consult a qualified attorney.

Does ECC guarantee a job, interview, or promotion?

No. ECC provides the services and deliverables agreed in your scope. Hiring and promotion decisions are made by employers, and outcomes depend on factors beyond ECC’s control. No service guarantees an offer, interview, promotion, or particular salary.

Let’s find your next step.

Choose the inquiry that matches your request, or contact us if you need help finding the right path.
